The Cafe
Established originally as a Tea Garden early during the last century, this superlative Beach Café situated at the western end of the cove offers unparalleled views of the English Channel from it’s picturesque terrace. The current owners Bill and Jayne Nigh have now completed a programme of works to upgrade and extend the café in sympathy with it’s seaside heritage.

The café serves a wide selection of freshly prepared sandwiches and salads, together also with pints of juicy prawns, home-made cakes and puddings. Speciality dishes include locally caught crab supplied by the award winning Ventnor Haven Fishery. The café’s legendary Crab Teas are also extremely popular. What can be better then enjoying a pot of tea and crab sandwich by the seaside followed by one of Jayne’s fluffy pink meringues garnished with fresh fruit and chocolate. Trays are also available for the beach together with a comprehensive selection of hot and cold drinks and New Forest ice creams. The café also boasts the coveted Five Star Food Hygiene Rating awarded by the Isle of Wight Council (www.iwight.com/scoresonthedoors).

Sandy children and well behaved dogs are welcome. We regret do not accept reservations and operate on a first come first serve basis, so don’t leave it too late to sample the day’s catch.

Please note the café is now licensed to sell beer, wines and fizz.
